The Ipswich Northern Fringe Master plan is a high level plan concerned with the qualities and character of the development, the extent of the housing and community facilities, including schools, shops, community centre, green and open spaces etc together with the necessary infrastructure such as roads. Its aim is to ensure the site is planned in a comprehensive way and will guide future outline and detailed planning applications. It should deliver an integrated approach across all developers and prevent piecemeal development that inevitably will result in sub-optimal design.

Ipswich Borough Council arranged a public consultation of the Ipswich Northern Fringe draft Masterplan (now renamed Ipswich Garden Suburb Supplementary Planning Document) and a review of the Core Strategy between the 13th January and 10th March 2014. The draft Master plan and our responses can be found by clicking on the links below. For the Core Strategy review please look under the Ipswich core Strategy tab on this website.
